The best RPGs of 2019 on iOS and Android: Yaga, Cat Quest II, Battle Chasers: Nightwar and others

Many modern gamers do not know what a real RPG is. Role-playing game is a role-playing game where the key factor is the word "role", meaning that the player has the opportunity to play a specific character. In them, in addition to pumping, the emphasis is often on the plot and an interesting world.

On mobile, RPGs are often called everything in general. The Elder Scrolls: Blades is a great example, but it certainly has no place here. But the rest of the year was great for fans of the genre.

Yaga

Yaga is a pleasant action RPG in the setting of Slavic fantasy with cute cartoon graphics and interesting gameplay. You need to play as a blacksmith named Ivan, who performs various unfulfilled tasks of the king. The same Baba Yaga helps him in this. In addition to action and RPG, there are also elements of a bagel, so there are a little more random events here than in other games of the genre. In general, there is a great story, a variety of tasks, a full-fledged role-playing and manual combat system.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar

One of the best ports of this year, Battle Chasers: Nightwar is a game stylized as a classic jRPG with turn-based battles, dungeons and an interesting story.

The appearance of the project was the responsibility of the artist Joy Madureira, who also had a hand in the Darksiders series. Nightwar is based on his comic book of the same name. And the turn-based gameplay fits perfectly into the format of mobile gaming.

Cat Quest II: The Lupus Empire

The sequel to a very popular RPG, which is unclear how it gained popularity among the Russian-speaking audience, who appreciate only "adult" games. The main innovation of the continuation was a full-fledged cooperative mode.

Everything else has not changed, but so much is only better: stunning graphics, an interesting story, a dynamic combat system and additional quests for the most active.

Graveyard Keeper

"The most unreliable medieval cemetery simulator this year". Most of all, this game resembles Stardew Valley with black humor and in a different setting.

Here you are constantly waiting for ethical dilemmas, collecting resources, a variety of tasks and secrets. It's also a game about capitalism. And this is important.

Star Traders: Frontiers

The most inconspicuous RPG for mobile this year. Its action takes place in outer space, and you are engaged, as you can understand from the name, in trade. There are elements of a turn-based strategy here. You act as the captain of a spaceship, and your team can have a variety of personalities. Only you can decide who to become: an honest merchant, pirate, smuggler or treasure hunter. Deep, varied, and often very unobvious.

Worthy of mention:Oceanhorn 2-you can't call it an outright failure, but the much-anticipated RPG in Apple Arcade did not meet half of the expectations assigned to Itlangrisser Mobile-the mobile version of the cult jRPGShieldwall Chronicles: Swords of the North-an old-school tactical RPG
